Lindholme Lakes introduction.
Lindholme Lakes Fisheries is situated at
Sandtoft, near Epworth on the outskirts
of Doncaster. It comprises of 7 match /
pleasure lakes which are well established.
There are plans to add a further lake which
will hold a further 150 or so pegs.
An overall description of the complex is
that this is an excellent fishery for the
match angler, pleasure fisherman or beginner.
Any type of bait will catch a whole variety
of the fish stocked in these waters.
The complex is run by owners Neil and Bev
Grantham and you couldn’t wish to meet a
nicer couple. They are very friendly and
give you an update on what lake has been
fishing well and will even put you on the
fish. This complex has been built up over
several years and time and effort has gone
into the project which caters directly for
the fisherman.
Since work began, the original 4 lakes have
been transformed into one of the premier
fisheries in Britain where matches are held
on a regular basis boasting the UK Pole
Championships. A look in the weekly publication
Angling Times will show match weights regularly
hit the 100lb plus mark with excellent back
up weights. So whether you are looking for
a match venue or just a spot of pleasure
fishing, I can highly recommend this fishery.
If you want to stay for a few sessions,
there are local B&B in the area, namely
the Wesley Guest House or the Red Lion in
nearby Epworth which give a discount when
Lindholme Lakes have recommended them.
Facilities on site include male & female
toilets, wash room, booking office for that
all important information, disabled peg
access, car parking to most pegs and a recently
opened tackle & bait shop which stocks
a wide variety of bait at lower than tackle
shop prices.
The Fishery Rules are on par with the majority
of commercial venues, namely Barbless hooks
only to a maximum size 10, No litter, Keepnets
in matches only, Nets to be dipped before
fishing, Groundbait only in feeders or pole
cups, No Method feeders, No fixed rigs,
No cat or Dog meat. Day Ticket prices are
£5 for adults and £4 for children.
To get to the fishery, leave the M180 at
junction 1 and take the A18 Scunthorpe road
towards Scunthorpe. Take the second turning
on the right (3 miles) towards Sandtoft.
Pass over the motorway and when you get
to the mini roundabout go straight on onto
Wroot road, the fishery is on the right
about 1 mile further on.
